'Surviving the Recession' Talk Hits the Road
As part of an MBA project, our research and development department has undertaken a study into businesses during recessions, and has developed a ‘hints and tips’ guide to surviving the recession. Following a series of talks, articles and presentations, we have been asked to put together seminars to pass on the findings to interested business people, concerned not to make mistakes that have cost companies in the past.
The study of recessions is fascinating: it shows a clear correlation in the things that companies do and whether they survive. Recessions represent business in the most Dawinesque environment, when the fittest survive and the weak flounder. The good news – for those who survive – is that they tend to flourish once the recession is over. By understanding what has worked in the past, we have been able to create a working blueprint for how companies should survive the current recession, and flourish thereafter.
